When our client's approached us with an ambitious vision for their home we could not turn down the opportunity to turn it into a reality. They had just purchased the home and were looking to modify the home to best suit their needs and lifestyle. Since the existing kitchen was unable to accommodate their cooking and storage needs we designed a prep kitchen placed adjacent to the existing kitchen to store appliances and food not currently being utilized which saved them from dealing with clutter. We also redesigned the layout of their kitchen to fit better with their taste and lifestyle by adding new appliances, a larger range, and more counter space. When entering the home it felt cluttered due to a large wall blocking the majority of the home with the exception of the lounge we removed several walls to better connect the spaces between the home. Since their dogs are a big part of their life they wanted a space that they could dedicate solely to their toys, treats, and cleaning we decided it was best to design a durable dog room to house all of their belongings. We included a shower, a treat station, and plenty of storage for their toys. Our clients wanted an easier way to transport their sheets t without having to walk down the stairs holding cumbersome sheets to the laundry room on the 1st floor, so we integrated a small enough laundry closet for them in the walk-in master closet for convenience. In adding the laundry closet we also added a laundry shoot so they were able to drop their clothes in the laundry room without having to carry loads of laundry down the steps and to provide a better capacity for washing articles of clothing. Since our clients had an at-home gym they were better able to exercise at their home however they missed the amenities of the gym such as a steam room so we updated their existing walk-in shower to be able to serve as a small steam room as well. With the unused loft located upstairs above the garage, we felt it was best to include a small kitchen, couch, and similar amenities for family or friends staying at the home for long periods of time in the room adjacent to the loft.
